Prior to enrolling in courses at this language level, students must have completed or tested out of a minimum of 2 upper-division college-level Spanish courses at their home university in the U.S.

This class focuses on the following topics:
1. The regional development in the theories of development. The thought of CEPAL.
2. The conditions of the regional integration during the 60's: ISI and the steps to integration.
3. Regional integration, development, and globalization in the 90's. Theoretical principles and spacial contradictions.
4. The initiative for the Americas and continental integration.
5. Mexico-NAFTA.
6. Central America-MCCA.
7. The Caribbean-CARICOM.
8. The contries of the Andean Pact.
9. MERCOSUR.
