Overview

This course is designed as a reflection of the knowledge and ideas that permitted the medieval man to understand and justify himself as an individual and also within a collectivity. Classes are dedicated to the study of works of the medieval period that influenced the culture and mind frame of this era. Topics to be covered include: the development of a new vision: man as microcosm, perception and measurements of space and time, social measures of the family, fraternity, and the guild, work and commerce exchange, money and problems of usage, values and feelings of the medieval man, the concept of divinity.
