Overview

Tourism is an activity of great socio-economic importance in today's world. In 1996 more than six hundred million people participated in some form of international tourist activity, generating an important economic flow between countries and important geographical repercussions. The following topics will be covered: conceptual and methodological aspects of the geography of tourism and recreational areas, tourist flows, spatial distribution, and valorization of tourist activity, geographical factors of activity and tourist organization, classification of tourist and recreational spaces, geographic repercussions of tourism, geography and tourism in Catilla and Leon, Tourism in Spain: resources, importance and geographical repercussions.
