This charming village has preserved its narrow medieval streets and several palaces datingfrom the 14th and 15th centuries. The most impressive building is the romanesque collegiate Church of Santa Juliana and its magnificent cloister. Also, outside of the village, there is a replica of the paleolithic Altamira Caves which contain the most famous prehistoric paintings in the world. Comillas, a small fisherman’s village, is located along the coast. It is home to the Palace of the Marquis of Comillas and “El Capricho,” a modernist style palace designed by Guadí around 1883.
