Semester / Trimester

Spanish Language & Culture Trimester

This program provides grammar and culture courses in all levels of Spanish. The back-to-back option is also available, where students may combine two trimester sessions. All courses are held at the Menendez Pelayo International University with other ISA students and international students.

All students must take a Spanish language placement exam upon arrival in Santander. The exam will indicate each student's language proficiency level, and will determine the courses in which the student is eligible to enroll. Students who arrive in Spain having completed one semester of college-level Spanish or less will likely place into beginning/high beginning level courses. Students who arrive in Spain having completed one full year of college-level Spanish will likely place into the intermediate level courses. Students who arrive in Spain having completed two years of college-level Spanish will likely place into advanced level courses. Students who arrive in Spain having completed three years of college-level Spanish will likely place into the superior level courses.
