University of Cantabria
Catalog Code: ISNF3108

Guggenheim Museum (Bilbao) and San Sebastián

This trip will include a visit to the famous Guggenheim Museum, designed by the American architect Frank Gehry. This huge,sculpture-like building - a mixture of stone, titanium, and glass - is considered one of the masterpieces of 20th century architecture. After a visit to the Museum, students will head to San Sebastián, an elegant and festive town on the northern coast of Spain that hosts a myriad of shops and tapas bars. Students can hang out on the beach, shop in the old quarter, or relax at an outdoor café. While wandering the streets of San Sebastián, one can't miss the gorgeous 18th century Baroque Church of Santa María and the striking 16th century Gothic Church of San Vicente.
