Prior to enrolling in courses at this language level, students must have completed or tested out of a minimum of 2 upper-division college-level Spanish courses at their home university in the U.S.
Overview
OVERVIEW
After a brief explanation of the basic concepts, there will be a study of the main phases of the Roman penetration into Hispania. Then, the course will move towards analyzing the "image" that they had of Pre-Roman towns as Roman sources have presented them. From here there will be an analysis of the effects of acculturation by studying the changes that were produced in indigenous societies which in turn affected the economy, society, and the administration. The course concludes with the study of the material, spiritual, and cultural manifestations.
