SevillaSummer:Spanish Language, Culture and Business in EnglishSummer 1 2009 (May 19, 2009 to Jun 27, 2009) The Summer 1 Program provides courses in all levels of Spanish. Students with no previous language experience will focus on language acquisition and have the choice of taking another language class or a class in English. Intermediate level students can focus on language aquisition or select two courses from a list containing language, culture, International Relations, International Finance, and Economy of the European Union. Students with an advanced level of Spanish have the opportunity to select two courses from a list consisting of grammar, culture, literature, International Relations, International Finance, and Economy of the European Union. Students will be in classes with other ISA students. Minimum Admissions Prerequisites Both the Summer 1 and Summer 2 programs accommodate students at all levels of Spanish proficiency. Students must have a 2.5 GPA. All students must take a Spanish language placement exam upon arrival in Sevilla. The exam will indicate each student's language proficiency level, and will determine the courses in which the student is eligible to enroll. Students who arrive in Spain having completed less than one year of college-level Spanish will likely place into beginning level courses. Students who arrive in Spain having completed one full year of college-level Spanish will likely place into the intermediate level courses.
