Students may choose between the following Program Terms:

Liberal Arts, Geography & History - University of Sevilla

This program offers a wide range of courses in liberal arts, geography and history. All classes are with American and other international students. Those students who would like a grammar review prior to the regular program start may enroll in the Semester/Year program which includes a 2-week Intensive Spanish Language course at the Menéndez Pelayo International University prior to the regular program start at the University of Sevilla.

Spanish Language, Culture & Business in English Semester - Menéndez Pelayo International University-Sevilla

This program accommodates students of all levels of Spanish proficiency. The curriculum includes courses in grammar, communicative skills and Spanish culture, as well as business and economics courses in English. Students will be taking courses primarily with ISA students.

For beginning, intermediate, and advanced-level Spanish speakers. All students must take a Spanish language placement exam upon arrival in Sevilla. The exam will indicate each student's language proficiency level, and will determine the courses in which the student is eligible to enroll. Students who arrive in Spain having completed less than one year of college-level Spanish will likely place into beginning level courses. Students who arrive in Spain having completed one full year of college-level Spanish will likely place into the intermediate level courses. Students who arrive in Spain having completed two years of college-level Spanish will likely place into advanced level courses.

Business & Liberal Arts - Pablo de Olavide University

This program offers a variety of courses at Pablo de Olavide University, some of which are taught in English and others that are taught in Spanish. The subjects vary from history and political science to business and biology. Beginning, intermediate and advanced level Spanish language courses are also available. All classes are with American and other international students. Students with an adequate language level may participate in up to two classes with Spanish students by means of the Program for Integration with the University (PIU). The ISA Business and Liberal Arts program is perfect for the student who enjoys a traditional university atmosphere, yet wants regular interaction with Spanish students.

Advanced level students may enroll in content courses taught in Spanish with international students. Additionally, students who score significantly high on the placement exam but are only a few points away from placing into the advanced level may be eligible to enroll in content courses taught at the advanced level, per the discretion of the UPO. It is important to keep in mind that these courses are taught at the advanced language level, and students are fully responsible for their course selections. Students must have completed or tested out of a minimum of two college-level Spanish courses to be eligible for intermediate Spanish language courses. Students must have completed or tested out of a minimum of four college-level Spanish courses to be eligible for advanced Spanish language courses. There is no language prerequisite for beginning Spanish language courses nor courses that are taught in English.
