This course is designed for students who have completed or tested out of a minimum of four semesters (or six quarters) of college-level Spanish. However, students must take a placement exam to determine the course level into which they will be able to enroll.
Overview
This class aims to promote active class discussion while increasing the student’s knowledge of the social, political and cultural life of present-day Latin America. Teaching material will include top stories from the Latin American press as well as Latin American films.

4. Internet practice (access Latin American press), Computer Lab (1 hour)
5. News and reality in the newspapers of Latin American countries.

Papers: The pupils will be required to write 8 papers (2 pages each) about news from the press of 8 different countries, chosen from the countries analyzed in class.
