Prior to enrolling in courses at this language level, students must have completed or tested out of a minimum of four semesters (or six quarters) of college-level Spanish at their home university in the U.S.

The objective of this course is to investigate the intimate relationship between the Meditteranean world and Spain during the creation of the Spanish culture (from pre-history until the Arab invasion). Several fieldtrips to places of historic interest will be an important part of this course.
