OBJECTIVES AND BASIS OF THE COURSE
As its main objective, this Course provides a systematic and thorough approach to the developments during the twentieth century in Spain within Architecture, Painting, Sculpture, as well as in terms of more ground-breaking contemporary artistic manifestations (happenings, performance art…). Key artists, as well as trends and artistic movements, will be explored.
METHODOLOGY
Class sessions will be of a theoretical-practical kind, combining theoretical explanations of syllabus content – backed up with computer-generated access to artworks – and discussion and debate amongst Course participants concerning the visual material on-screen and the recommended texts for reading.
