All students must take a Spanish language placement exam upon arrival in Valencia. The exam will indicate each student's language proficiency level, and may determine the courses in which the student is eligible to enroll. Students who arrive in Spain having completed the equivalent of one year of college-level Spanish will likely place into intermediate-level courses. Students who arrive in Spain having completed the equivalent of two years or more of college-level Spanish will likely place into advanced-level courses. Please note that ISA cannot guarantee course placement.

IMPORTANT: The courses listed for the Year 1 program include all offerings available over the course of the academic year, and not all classes are necessarily offered both semesters. Please refer to the Fall 1 and Winter 1 sections of this website to obtain current course offerings for each semester.
