CHINA In response to numerous requests, and building upon ISA's already diverse offerings in many regions of the world, ISA is proud to announce new programs in Jordan and China. Consistent with ISA's model of providing significant linguistic and cultural engagement abroad, each of these programs will be based at well-respected universities where students will have daily interaction with host country students. Shanghai, China Both of ISA's new programs in Shanghai: Intensive Chinese Language and Chinese Language and Culture in Shanghai, will be hosted at the prestigious East China Normal University (ECNU) and will be offered for this Fall 2010 semester. The Intensive Chinese Language Program will offer students from all language levels, including those with no previous experience with Chinese, the opportunity to take a total of 250 contact hours of Mandarin language courses. The second program in Shanghai, Chinese Language and Culture, will allow students to take Humanities, Fine Arts, Cultural Studies, and Social Science courses in English along with a beginning level Mandarin language course. Throughout both programs, students will be supported by the ISA Shanghai office, located on the campus of ECNU. ISA's on-site staff will provide many cultural activities and excursions, including guided cultural visits to Hangzhou, Nanjing, a 3-day tour of Beijing and the Great Wall, entrance to the 2010 World Expo in Shanghai, and many other events.
