JORDAN

In response to numerous requests, and building upon ISA's already diverse offerings in many regions of the world, ISA is proud to announce new programs in Jordan and China. Consistent with ISA's model of providing significant linguistic and cultural engagement abroad, each of these programs will be based at well-respected universities where students will have daily interaction with host country students.

Amman, Jordan
Al-Ahliyya Amman University

ISA's Language and Culture in Amman program will be hosted at Al-Ahliyya Amman University, Jordan's oldest private university. In addition to providing all levels of Arabic language, AAU will offer English-taught courses in wide variety of disciplines such as Literature, Political Science, History, Cultural Studies, Engineering, Computer Science, Graphic Design, and many others. There are no language prerequisites for this program, and all students will take at least one Modern Standard Arabic language course. Beginning this Spring 2011, students will have the opportunity to learn about Jordanian culture first-hand on a safe, modern, well-equipped campus with state-of-the-art facilities and the same superior on-site support that ISA is known for providing. In order to give students a sense of Jordan's historical context within the Middle East, ISA will provide visits to many exciting sites, such as Wadi Rum, the Dead Sea, and Petra, one of the wonders of the ancient world.
