Multi Country Program

Multi-Country: Latin America

  • Argentina
  • Peru

The Multi-Country program to Buenos Aires, Argentina and Lima, Peru gives students the unique opportunity to experience two completely different cities, countries, and cultures during the course of one semester. Students will experience the elegant and lively atmosphere of Buenos Aires as well as the bustling fusion of history and modernity in Lima. Although the differences between these cities will be immediately apparent to the students, this program offers students the chance to go beyond initial appearances and arrive at the heart of these two cultures. After having spent an extended period of time at each of the program sites, students will be able to draw cultural and linguistic comparisons between the sites and will more fully understand the essence of Hispanic culture.

Specialized courses at both the University of Belgrano and the University of the Pacific form an integrated and progressive curriculum for this program.

The academic structure consists of a 100-hour language module upon arrival in Buenos Aires followed by a 3-credit general elective course in Business, History, or Literature. In Lima, students have the option to continue their Spanish through a 20 hour Advanced Conservation and Composition course and will also enroll in 2 out of 4 elective courses offered in both the Spanish and English languages.

The Spanish language track of the program helps students advance their language skills while examining the linguistic nuances that color the language of both countries. The culture track allows students to compare cultural aspects, like history, literature, and business of the countries.
