The Multi-Country program to Buenos Aires, Argentina and Lima, Peru gives students the unique opportunity to experience two completely different cities, countries and cultures during the course of one semester. Students will experience the elegant and lively atmosphere of Buenos Aires as well as the bustling fusion of history and modernity in Lima. Although the differences between these cities will be immediately apparent, this program offers the chance to go beyond initial appearances and arrive at the heart of these two cultures. After having spent an extended period of time at each of the program sites, students will be able to draw cultural and linguistic comparisons and connections between the two cities and countries and will more fully understand the essence of what is Latin America.
Specialized courses at both the University of Belgrano and the Universidad del Pacífico form an integrated and progressive curriculum for the Spanish Language, Business and Latin American Studies Multi-Country program.
The academic structure consists of a 120-hour language module upon arrival in Buenos Aires followed by a 3-credit elective course that will selected from various topics, including Cultural Studies, Politics, and Literature. In Lima, students have the option to continue their Spanish through a 20-hour Advanced Conservation and Composition course and will also enroll in 2 out of 4 elective courses offered in both Spanish and English.
The Spanish language track of the program helps students advance their language skills while examining the linguistic nuances that color the language of both countries. The electives offered allow students to compare various cultural elements present in each country by taking courses in history, political science, literature, art and business.
