![]() Multi Country ProgramMulti-Country: Latin America
The Multi-Country program to Mexico, Peru, and Argentina gives students the unique opportunity to experience three completely different cities, countries, and cultures in the course of one semester. Students will be captivated by the colonial charm of Guanajuato, the bustling fusion of history and modernity in Lima, and the elegant and lively atmosphere of Buenos Aires. Although the differences between these three cities will be immediately apparent to the students, this program offers students the chance to go beyond initial appearances and arrive at the heart of these cultures. After having spent an extended period of time at each of the program sites, students will be able to draw cultural and linguistic comparisons between each of the sites and will more fully understand the essence of Hispanic culture. Specialized courses at the University of Guanajuato, the University of the Pacific, and the University of Belgrano form an integrated and progressive curriculum for this program. The academic structure consists of two courses per city, a Spanish language course (taught in Spanish) paired with a general elective course in Business, History, or Literature (one of which will be taught in English in both Mexico and Peru). Electives during the final leg of the program (Argentina) are taught in Spanish. The Spanish language track of the program helps students advance their language skills while examining the linguistic nuances that color the language of each country. The culture track allows students to compare cultural aspects, like history, literature, and business, of the different countries.
