School of Record
While the majority of U.S. universities accept credits issued directly by the host university, ISA understands that some students may be required to provide a “School of Record” transcript from a U.S. accredited institution for coursework or experiential opportunities completed abroad. For example, a university may require a School of Record transcript if the host institution is not recognized by a specific regional accrediting body such as the Ministry of Education; the home university has limited on-campus resources dedicated to foreign credential evaluation; or the student participated is an experiential program abroad. ISA offers the following programs to assist students who may require a School of Record transcript.
All students who participate in a program at the ISA Meknes Study Center are awarded credit by Carroll College and receive an official transcript at the end of their program at no additional cost. Students participating in an ISA Service-Learning or ISA Internship program may also request academic credit through Carroll College. The School of Record fee for these students is $300. As the School of Record, Carroll College adheres to the Guidelines for School of Record Relationships outlined by the Forum on Education Abroad.
University of South Florida
All students who participate in an ISA program at the Florence University of the Arts (FUA) receive an academic transcript from the FUA and a transcript from their School of Record, the University of South Florida (USF), at no additional cost. ISA’s Academic Records department will forward the requested transcript to the students’ home universities. Additional information regarding the School of Record partnership may be found on the USF Education Abroad and FUA Accreditation sites.
Students or advisors interested in learning more about the School of Record options listed above are encouraged to contact their Program Manager.
