OverviewThis course combines elements of chemical engineering process design covered in 2nd and 3rd year courses within a dedicated design project around a chemical process unit. Special focus is on the design of reactor and separation units and how they integrate within a process unit. The project entails 4 stages:
- data collection, conceptual design, flowsheeting
- reactor design
- separation unit design
- overall process analysis
Each stage will be presented in an intermediate technical report, followed by a summary report.
Credits earned vary according to the policies of the students' home institutions. According to ISA policy and possible visa requirements, students must maintain full-time enrollment status, as determined by their home institutions, for the duration of the program.
