  • Overview

    At the end of the module, students will possess an understanding of the origins, literature, mythology and culture of the Greeks from the earliest times to the time of Pericles in the 5th century BC.

    This module will introduce students to: the Minoan and Mycenaean civilisations, the Homeric epics(especially the Iliad of Homer), the origin of the Greek gods, and the rise of Athenian democracy in the time of Pericles.
