    The aims of this course are as follows:

    1) to be able to enjoy conversation in Japanese with Japanese friends
    2) to be able to read easy Japanese
    3) to write a short essay on a topic of a student's interest
    4) to make a presentation in front of an audience

    Classes are conducted in easy Japanese and English is used when necessary
    The course will start from the review of basic grammar with an emphasis on speaking and listening
    Aural-oral drills and practice of structural patterns are emphasized in class
    Students should master 200 Kanji by the end of the semester
    Students will have several lessons with Japanese students
    Visitor Sessions - the main purpose of these sections is to continue the development of speaking skills through opportunities in face-to-face communication
