The goals of this course are to plot the evolution of the economies in the East Asian Region. By the end of the course, students should be able to distinguish between the characteristics of each country in the region and critically analyze the economic data that underlies their nation. This can be used as a basis for creating policies and strategies going forward.
The class text and assigned readings provide background for lectures. Students’ grasp of key concepts will be enhanced through classroom discussion, presentations, and case studies. Skills in applying this knowledge to practical situations will be developed through
tasks involving theoretical workplace problems and mini-projects.
