This course explores how to start a business / new venture. By the end of the course, students should know the steps needed to start a new business and be in a position to decide if that business has a reasonable chance of success. It will be a practical course that will benefit students who go into any career area.
The class text and assigned readings provide background for lectures. Students’ grasp of key concepts will be enhanced through classroom discussion, presentations, and case studies. Skills in applying this knowledge to practical situations will be developed through
tasks involving theoretical workplace problems and mini-projects.
