    Course Objectives
    Throughout the world, there are different social customs, politics, economic systems, values and religious traditions. In order to ensure a successful multinational career, it is important to understand these variations. This course will be conducted as a seminar in format and will primarily consider what “culture” and “religion” are and then investigate selected world societies. Through this process, it will be possible to challenge stereotypes and enhance worldviews, thus giving students an improved ability to interact with people from
    a variety of viewpoints and nations.

    Course Description
    (1) In order to attempt to make sense of the complexity of the world, it is important to be able to identify, recognize and memorize basic geography and chronology as well as important dates, figures, concepts, events, and processes.

    (2) Achieve a deeper understanding of some of the general trends and processes that affect values and institutions, as well as their influence on various cultures and nations.

    (3) Learn about important issues and debates.

    (4) Develop an enhanced ability to examine readings and methodologies critically. In other words, attempt to achieve a better understanding of the uses and limitations of these materials.

    (5) Develop an ability to think and write in a critical and compelling manner (restyle and grammar).
