Study Abroad Program Description
The program price includes tuition for one online course (45 hours, worth 3 semester credits). Choose from a wide range of subjects including Korean language/art/culture, business, communication, engineering, science, math and social sciences.
The Korean Language and Culture & Courses in English Remote Learning program with Hanyang University is more than learning about South Korea from afar. It is about experiencing South Korea as a world-renowned symbol of culture in a significant and compelling manner. The remote course offering aims to deeply engage learners through a well-structured exploration of Seoul by providing students a meaningful and transportable vision of the city that ultimately helps to inform and positively influence their future experiences.

Students must have a minimum grade point average of 2.50.
MINIMUM ADMISSIONS PREREQUISITES
There is no language prerequisite for this program.
You must be enrolled as a full-time degree-seeking student in a U.S. college or university. Gap students must provide an official acceptance letter proving their enrollment at a U.S. institution for the semester immediately following their program at Hanyang University.

A team of helpful ISA staff members is here to support you through your virtual educational experience. The Program Advisors will help you choose your program based on your unique objectives. Once you’ve selected your program, you will work with your Program Manager on the application process, as well as forms and finances. Your Program Manager will assist you with course registration and academic logistics for your virtual program.

Tuition at the Host University
Tuition and administrative fees for one online course at the host university are included in the program price. Classes are held virtually and are taught by local and/or visiting faculty in the host city. Some classes may have additional fees that are not included in the program price. If you are interested in enrolling in more than one online course, please speak with the your ISA Program Manager about additional fees.

ISA Discovery Model
ISA programs facilitate learning and development through co-curricular activities. We rely on host universities to provide quality instruction in the classroom, but ISA is the main facilitator of learning outside of the classroom. Efforts to promote student learning are shaped by a teaching and learning framework we call the ISA Discovery Model.
According to this model, student learning and development is organized into five areas of discovery: 1. Intercultural, 2. Historical, 3. Sociopolitical, 4. Professional and 5. Environmental
Throughout the duration of your ISA program, we provide you with the opportunity to pursue these five areas of discovery through the BCP, excursions, cultural activities, and references to non-ISA sponsored events and opportunities.
Official Transcript from the Host University
Official Transcript from the Host University
Upon completion of the ISA program, your host university will issue an official transcript with all coursework taken abroad. ISA's Academic Records Department will process and forward the official transcript to the appropriate office at your home university, and a photocopy will be sent to your permanent home address for your records. ISA will provide a cover letter to accompany the transcript with important academic information, including the host university's grading system and recommended U.S. letter grade equivalencies, translated course titles, and credit conversion recommendations.

Hanyang International Summer School Course Information
- Please note that this course list reflects offerings during the previous year's Summer program. The exact course list for the program will be available at a later date, although most courses will be very similar to what was offered during the previous program.
- You can take two or three classes and you are required to be enrolled in at least 6 credits total.
Course Credit
- Per Hanyang University, 1 credit indicates 16 credit hours of study per semester. Credit transfer is ultimately determined by the student’s home university.
- Each class offers a full-semester of coursework condensed into four weeks of intensive study totaling 48 hours
Korean Language Courses
- Taking a Korean language course is not required, however, we encourage students to do so.
- Students will be required to take a placement exam at the beginning of the program. Please note that your performance on the placement exam may not reflect the number of semesters of language instruction you've already completed at your home university. We strongly suggest that students who are trying to place into any level of language beyond true beginning prepare for the language placement exam by reviewing previous coursework.

Crystal Giedt

Born and raised in a small town in Minnesota, Crystal’s various homes range in cities coast to coast including, Minneapolis, Las Vegas, Philadelphia, Honolulu and now Austin. In 2015 Crystal went on a cruise with her family that changed her life drastically. She was inspired by hearing stories from fellow passengers and cruise ship staff of living abroad. Upon returning from the cruise a decision was made to quit her job, donate her things and move to Thailand to teach English. Upon completion of her TEFL certification Crystal taught English at a private school in Ayutthaya, Thailand. Crystal has traveled to all Southeast Asian countries and aspires to continue checking countries off her list! The experience of working, living and traveling abroad motivated Crystal to steer her new career path, back in the US, towards International Education. In this new role, Crystal is excited about encouraging students to take a leap and see the world while studying. In addition to searching airline tickets on Google Flights, she enjoys running, taking group fitness classes, going to the movies and being a tourist in her home town, wherever that may be.

I was born and raised up in Seoul, South Korea. After traveling to Europe during high school, I decided to study abroad for university. I am a graduate SUNY Plattsburgh, majored in Hospitality Management and also participated in National Student Exchange program in Hilo, Hawaii. Following graduation, I went to Tokyo, Japan on a Working holiday to explore different Asian cultures and fell in love with Japan. After my visit in Japan, studying Japanese, watching Japanese drama became of my favorite hobbies and I love to travel hidden part of Japan. I also have traveled to more than 30 countries and am still wanting to see more beauty of the world. Before joining ISA Seoul, I worked in the hotel business in South Korea and Canada for 5 years and it improved my quality of service skills.

Born and raised in Seoul, Minhee graduated with a BA in English Language and Literature in Korea. After her study she participated in an international internship program sponsored by the Korean government and started her internship in San Francisco. She believes that it was a meaningful process for her to learn how to communicate in an environment where she has to interact with people from different cultures. In her spare time, she likes exploring different coffee places, hunting around vintage shops and seeking adventures all around the world. So far, she has travelled to nineteen countries, over sixty cities, and is planning to visit some more!
