  • Overview

    This is an introductory course of research methods in child and family studies. Topics include framework of research, research designs, various methods to collect data and basic data analysis techniques. Emphasis will be placed on developing skills needed to understand and report research findings and to write an undergraduate honors thesis.
    In the course students will 1) gain an understanding of general research concepts and various designs, 2) learn skills related to writing research reports and an honors thesis, 3) learn skills related to organize and describe data with computer software program, and 4) develop skills for effective collaboration.
