Course Description:
Principle of recombinant DNA technology, restriction endonuclease, DNA cloning , transformation, gene library, screening for the right clone, manipulation of gene expression, DNA sequencing, PCR, direct mutagenesis, isolation of human gene, transgenic animal, gene therapy, application for large scale production.
Goals:
To understand the principle of recombinant DNA technology To understand the process of genetic engineering To understand the application of genetic engineering in biotechnology.
Expected outcome on students' skill and knowledge:
Students should be able to apply knowledge gained from lectures and individual research to set up scientific experiments, solutions and precautions to benefit individuals and their community.
