    Course Description:

    History, value, rules and regulations of volleyball; practicing individual and team playing skills.

    Course Goals:

    To foster group/team co-operation in turn spawn a better understanding of the complex workings of a simple game and instill fair-play and game etiquette. The fundamentals are to be stressed with an emphasis on development and lead-up activities. Ball handling skills should be developed slowly and should be an outgrowth of the instructions form the basic skills. Students learn the elements of serving, passing, spiking and blocking. In the second phase, offensive and defensive play, and rules are added to this base. There will be ample opportunities for all students to have experiences in the many phases of the game.
