OverviewOverview of the ecological systems of Southeast Asia, and discusses the current impacts and potential threats to the ecosystems; the protected area system and its role in protecting intact ecosystems, in the conservation of biological diversity, in providing ecological services, and as a key component of ecotourism; relationship between ecosystem protection and sustainable development, and the international conventions that relate to ecosystem protection; ecofriendly guidelines for
developers and planners.

Credits earned vary according to the policies of the students' home institutions. According to ISA policy and possible visa requirements, students must maintain full-time enrollment status, as determined by their home institutions, for the duration of the program.
