Prerequisite: NoneThis module offers a broad introductory overview of some characteristics of the medieval world. It
explores the institutional and mental framework within which society operated, and examines features of
everyday life and material culture in that light. The topics covered include belief and the church,
communities and individuals, marriage, family, gender, age, education, the material world, technology, time
and space. Classes focus on an extensive range of short excerpts of documents, and students focus on a
particular topic for their essay.Assessment: 100.0% Coursework
