    COURSE DESCRIPTION:
    This course will be a series of lectures, class presentations & class exercises. Monitoring international news on Asian countries will also be required on different topics, every week.

    COURSE OBJECTIVES:
    It is hoped that the students will understand how and why they have to take into account the international environment (economic, political, cultural and legal) while doing business in Asian countries. Examples of companies entering various Asian countries will be analyzed.
    Presence in class is mandatory. More than 2 absences will lead to a failing grade. Lateness will be accounted as half absence: late students will wait for the break to be allowed in class.

    EXPECTED LEARNING OUTCOMES:
    Upon completion of this course, students should be able to:
    1. Understand the strategic importance of this region
    2. Discuss how global companies select their strategy to enter Asian countries
    3. Explain who are the main players dominating the economic environment of Asian countries
    4. Explain the importance of retail distribution in Asian countries
    5. Identify Asian business logic
    6. Understand the Asian consumer behaviour

    The final grade will be determined as follows:
