Summary: This lecture proposes to show how the song, through its themes, its figures and its evolution, is at the same time a popular art and which can touch all of us for different reasons.

- To give a precise, vast and varied knowledge of the song, in its nuances and its diversity
- Allow students, through this expression, to better understand certain aspects of French society
- To walk virtually, through places and times, through the universes and generations of artists
During the conference:
Each session will be interspersed with listening songs.
After the session: Possible return by the students on the songs, in order to acquire vocabulary as well as knowledge.
Courses and course hours of instruction are subject to change.
Eligibility for courses may be subject to a placement exam and/or pre-requisites.
Credits earned vary according to the policies of the students' home institutions. According to ISA policy and possible visa requirements, students must maintain full-time enrollment status, as determined by their home institutions, for the duration of the program.
