Since this module involves aspects of the German language, which will also be tested in the Continuous Assessment and/or exam, an intermediate knowledge of German is a prerequisite.

OverviewGerman is an important language in the world of business, economics and finance, and this module will be of particular interest to students who are thinking of making a career in this area. It will focus on introducing students to the language skills appropriate for a German-language business environment. Skills to be covered include reading and summarising authentic texts such as reports in German; communicating about business-related topics in person and on the phone; writing emails, letters and reports in German. It will also offer some background information on the business world in the German-speaking countries.

Credits earned vary according to the policies of the students' home institutions. According to ISA policy and possible visa requirements, students must maintain full-time enrollment status, as determined by their home institutions, for the duration of the program.
ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System) credits are converted to semester credits/quarter units differently among U.S. universities. Students should confirm the conversion scale used at their home university when determining credit transfer.
