    This one semester option will consider the relationship between writing and the visual arts over the last two hundred years. This will be examined through a range of authors, texts and topics from the period, as well as in relation to the body of theory that has responded to this kind of writing. Topics will include the relationship between text and image, questions of aesthetics, the reception of the visual past, the figure of the artist, and notions of ?realism? and representation.
