This module provides students with an introduction to three key areas of psychology, Social Psychology, Personality Psychology and Developmental Psychology. The areas covered in PS122 can change from year to year, so students are advised to check the School of Psychology website in early September of the year of study to ascertain the exact content for that year. Social Psychology is the study of the individual and the way that situation (the environment) and disposition (the person) interact to determine behaviour. Personality Psychology attempts to build up a picture of the individual, based on his/her traits and characteristics, and how these characteristics shape cognition, behaviour and motivation. Finally, developmental psychology is concerned with the development of the individual across the lifespan. Together these three areas of psychology have made major contributions to our understanding of human behaviour.

Credits earned vary according to the policies of the students' home institutions. According to ISA policy and possible visa requirements, students must maintain full-time enrollment status, as determined by their home institutions, for the duration of the program.
ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System) credits are converted to semester credits/quarter units differently among U.S. universities. Students should confirm the conversion scale used at their home university when determining credit transfer.
