OverviewThis hybrid course offers a historical account of the music business industry and provides hands-on skills for future music managers, promoters, and tour managers. Moreover, the course explores the process of production, promotion, distribution, and consumption, with a focus on the impact of converged technology on the industry and professional practice. As a matter of fact, digital download and streaming have created a domino effect on every aspect of music, not only in the recorded industry, but also in the live music business. Finally, issues of copyright and security will also be assessed.
