This course will take a detailed look, from an archaeological point-of-view, at the nature of settlement in Scotland in the period defined rather broadly from c.800-1300 AD. It will focus particularly, on rural settlement and economy.Assessmenta) 50% of the assessment from a 2-question 2-hour exam.b) 50% of the assessment from a self-directed project on a topic to be approved by the Convenor.
