This course provides students the basic principles of emerging renewable energies.
In this course, the basics knowledge about alternative energy is offered, allowing students
to identify, quantify, and understand the transformation process of different forms of
Due to growing demand for energy and the impending shortage of fossil resources, it is
necessary for engineers to learn and become familiar with renewable/alternative energy
The students must acquire the fundamental knowledge to understand the different forms of
energy contributed by nature, and how this energy could be recovered.
COURSE OUTCOME (CO)
1. Identify how the different alternative energies are presented by nature.
2. Determine how these energies can be recovered or transformed in a useful form of
3. Quantify the amount of energy.
4. Develop models that will allow determining if the recovery is possible.
There will be a general explanation about the different forms of alternative energies that
will introduce during the course.
The students will form groups to study the different energies to be considered in the course.
The students will prepare presentations regarding the energy assigned for their study.
The students must participate in the different presentations prepared by their peers.
