    Course description:

    Today's world trade dynamics and a fierce competition in any marketplace have led to

    the rapid improvement of technologies and processes in order to adapt to the

    unpredictable demand. However, it is not enough to apply the latest technology or

    invest high amounts of capital in the newest infrastructure; you must partner with the

    other actors (organizations) of the chain so that you along with the others produce value

    and optimize profitability. It is necessary as part of the Emphasis in International Trade

    to learn the strategies and processes within a Global Supply Chain to guarantee that

    students will develop the skills to know how to work in a collaborative manner. This

    course will be of great contribution for the decision making process related to the

    different areas of the supply chain.

     

    Course objectives:

    To assimilate the purpose of working within a Supply Chain and the complexities of working in a Global Supply Chain.

    To learn and apply the tools leading to the integration inside the supply chain.

    To understand the principles of optimization inside the SC

    To appropriate the knowledge of how Global supply chains operate in the World to

    apply in the Colombian context.

     

    Evaluations:

    Written exams covering contents. Case analysis and workshops to see the contents

    applied in practice. Presentations and papers to evaluate analysis and reflection
