    The course seeks to reflect on the future of Peru and its inhabitants, based on processes of environmental change currently underway. In order to systematize this inquiry, two important geographical concepts are used: Globalization and the Anthropocene. On the one hand, the study of the social and institutional forces that shaped the current Global Economy is addressed.

    And, on the other, the role of technological change and mass consumption in the establishment of contemporary global production networks is analyzed. In addition to these concepts and processes, their effects on land cover change and associated environmental transformations are considered.
