  • Overview

    This introductory unit is a studio course enabling you to explore, construct, analyse and interpret visual data through the 2D graphic modes of drawing, painting and printmaking.
    Learning Outcomes
    On completion of this unit you should be able to:
    1. anaylse traditional and contemporary forms of 2D media;
    2. formulate and produce a body of 2D artwork that demonstrates artistic coherence;
    3. articulate the processes, practical and conceptual, leading to the production of your 2D artwork;
    4. apply effective communication and knowledge of contemporary forms of 2D media.
    Content
    This unit will introduce you to the key features of a range of two-dimensional media and their contribution to the methods and concepts of contemporary art. These approaches link investigation and application with individual practices and projects. You will consider 2D form in a contemporary context with an emphasis on process and experimentation.
