Overview
This unit introduces students to the fundamentals principles of music and sound production through a mix of theory and practice. Students gain an understanding of sound recording, sound production and live sound reinforcement and develop listening skills essential for music and sound production.Learning OutcomesOn completion of this unit you should be able to:1. Apply fundamental principles of acoustics and acoustic technology in music and sound creation, production and presentation.2. Appraise musical repertoire, music styles and modes of production and evaluate and critique music works.3. Record sound using common audio technology and a variety of microphone techniques.4. Accurately document and effectively communicate details of the production process.
