OverviewThis unit provides an introduction to some of the complexities of the fashion system and is intended to provide a base for students who wish to pursue further studies in fashion.Learning OutcomesOn completion of this unit you should be able to:
Approaches to Teaching and LearningLectures introduce new knowledge and key theoretical concepts; tutorials / seminars offer students opportunity to develop skills in public discussion, giving and receiving peer feedback and critical thinking. Research tasks allow students to explore introductory fashion communication skills across a wide range of media.
- Recognise key trends in contemporary fashion.
- Research fashion across a wide range of resources.
- Present research findings in appropriate academic and industry formats, both in written and oral modes.
Courses and course hours of instruction are subject to change.
Eligibility for courses may be subject to a placement exam and/or pre-requisites.
Some courses may require additional fees.
Credits earned vary according to the policies of the students' home institutions. According to ISA policy and possible visa requirements, students must maintain full-time enrollment status, as determined by their home institutions, for the duration of the program.
