OverviewThis introductory unit is a studio course enabling you to explore, construct, analyse and interpret visual data through the 2D graphic modes of drawing, painting and printmaking.Learning OutcomesOn completion of this unit you should be able to:
ContentThis unit will introduce you to the key features of a range of two-dimensional media and their contribution to the methods and concepts of contemporary art. These approaches link investigation and application with individual practices and projects. You will consider 2D form in a contemporary context with an emphasis on process and experimentation.
- anaylse traditional and contemporary forms of 2D media;
- formulate and produce a body of 2D artwork that demonstrates artistic coherence;
- articulate the processes, practical and conceptual, leading to the production of your 2D artwork;
- apply effective communication and knowledge of contemporary forms of 2D media.

Eligibility for courses may be subject to a placement exam and/or pre-requisites.
Some courses may require additional fees.
Credits earned vary according to the policies of the students' home institutions. According to ISA policy and possible visa requirements, students must maintain full-time enrollment status, as determined by their home institutions, for the duration of the program.
