This subject is for students who have never studied Spanish before. Students will be introduced to the Spanish language and will develop the necessary skills to enable them to cope with a range of everyday situations. This course has been designed to offer the maximum exposure to Spanish language and culture so that students may experience the diversity that exists in the Hispanic world.Learning Objectives1. Understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases aimed at the satisfaction of needs of a concrete type.
2. Introduce oneself and others and ask and answer questions about personal details such as place of residence, acquaintances and possessions.
3. Interact in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help.
4. Explore software and develop skills to prepare a language proficiency portfolio.

Eligibility for courses may be subject to a placement exam and/or pre-requisites.
Credits earned vary according to the policies of the students' home institutions. According to ISA policy and possible visa requirements, students must maintain full-time enrollment status, as determined by their home institutions, for the duration of the program.
