Overview
Introduction
This subject relates to the stewardship of an organisation's infrastructure (premises and services) to facilitate and accommodate its activities, commercial or sporting. Asset and facilities managers are today challenged not only to ensure infrastructure is aligned with the goals of the organisation, but also to wider social agenda such as sustainability and climate change adaptation. A functional approach through case studies is taken to introduce tools and techniques for the practical operation and value maintenance of building assets. The role of technology in managing physical assets is also explored.Learning Objectives
1. Describe the role of property assets and facilities within the contemporary economic, business and social environment.
2. Devise a strategic facilities management plan including a budget.
3. Identify the tools and techniques for managing facilities services and its impact on service delivery.
