Introduction
This subject focuses on managing an organisation strategically to deal with the challenges posed by the highly turbulent and global environment of the 21st century. It covers the areas of strategy process, strategy content, strategy context and organisational purpose and is designed to improve students' strategy making competence and strategic thinking capabilities.Learning Objectives1. Identify different, often conflicting, concepts of strategy and critically reflect on their assumptions and limitations. 2. Define strategic issues and assess organisational situations from a strategic perspective.3. Apply strategy concepts and principles in an organisational context.4. Assess an organisation's positioning, and competitive resources and capabilities in the market place.5. Provide recommendations on how an organisation can gain sustainable competitive advantages.6. Understand the importance of ethical and sustainable business behaviour.
