This subject is designed to provide students with a practical overview of the cross-cultural management processes and issues which they must understand to manage in transnational firms. Because other subjects in the School of Business cover the specific topics of international marketing, trade and finance, Cross Cultural Management will concentrate on specific intra-organisational and cultural aspects of managing internationally.Learning Objectives1. Describe and explain the cultural, contextual and personal factors that influence cross-cultural interactions within multicultural teams.2. Describe your own personal and cultural values and behavioural preferences when working in a team environment and how those values and behavioural preferences impact your ability to function and manage effectively in a cross-cultural business environment.3. Diagnose personal, contextual and cultural factors that help or hinder multicultural team effectiveness in teams in which you personally work.4. Describe the characteristics that will contribute to your success as an expatriate manager working for a multinational firm, and the extent to which you currently possess those characteristics.
