  • Overview

Tourism related to sport is now a significant economic driver the world over. While sport events are a large part of this, sport tourism encompasses much more than events, and includes adventure, extreme and emerging forms of sport activities that often take place in socially and ecologically fragile regions. This subject adopts a sustainable development lens to examine the expansion of sport tourism and its tangible and intangible impacts, built and natural infrastructure, private and public partnerships, and the regional and urban areas in which it takes place.
